I’m very fortunate to live in Cape Town, South Africa and am constantly entranced and inspired by the light, landscape and sheer vibrancy of this land. Paintings created “en plein air” reflect this vibrancy, as well as the special play of light on a scene. The light here is similar to the clear, bright light of southern France, which the Impressionists took great delight in portraying.
I enjoy portraying the stunningly beautiful South African landscape, particularly the beaches and lagoon scenes of the Cape. Other paintings of mine have been inspired by my travels in East Africa, India, Italy, France, Greece and China. My paintings are collected by South Africans and by international visitors to Cape Town.
I regularly exhibit my paintings at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, in Cape Town, as well as at local art galleries, including Longbeach Gallery, Longbeach Mall, Noordhoek.
Some of my seascapes can be seen at Lime Tree Gallery, Long Melford, Suffolk, UK.
